The network holds a yearly meeting to bring together scholars and UN professionals, to discuss and encourage new themes/directions and ideas in the analysis of regional organizations and policy issues, as well as underlining gaps in SDGs’ achievement strategies in the region. It brings scholars and UN practitioners together to deepen their relationships and work together on research matters around selected themes relevant to the United Nations system in the region.

The Academic Network for Development Dialogue (ANDD) is an emerging network aiming to create synergy and strengthen the cooperation and dialogue between the United Nations (UN) and Academia. It acts as a think tank in the Arab region to influence the UN's work and the global dialogue on policy options to support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).  

This annual meeting aimed to discuss and approve a fiveyear plan of the network including necessary task forces, a proposal to develop a standing ANDD book series program, in addition to proposing other ideas for cooperation among members.

As we approach the tenth year since the SDGs' inception, a reflective and critical examination becomes essential. It's not just about tracking progress but understanding the ethical, policy-driven, and cultural underpinnings that guide or hinder this journey.
